Tanis Moore

Registered Provisional Psychologist

〰〰

Tanis Moore is a Registered Provisional Psychologist who grounds her work as a therapist primarily in cognitive behavioural therapy, with elements of person centered and solution focused therapy peppered in.

Tanis has a significant background in understanding and advocating for men’s issues. She spent most of her master’s degree researching these issues, and published a peer reviewed paper on how to improve outcomes for male victims of domestic abuse. Tanis understands that men often have different ways of healing and expressing themselves, and has made every effort to tailor her services towards supporting men’s unique needs.

James Patton is a practicum student finishing his Master’s of Counselling at Athabasca University. His Bachelor of Arts was in Psychology, taken at Mount Royal University. For ten years, he has worked in the field of mental health, suicide lines, intake for counselling programs, and even direct face-to-face client counselling.

James’ approach to counselling include methods such as client-centred practice, solution-focused counselling, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

Instead of prescribing solutions with broad appeal, James makes a deliberate effort to engage clients on a one-on-one basis, offering treatment plans that are both accommodating and responsive to individual needs.
