MBSR Program for MEN

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an 8-week program created to bring forth awareness through paying attention to the present moment with non-judgment.

CCMF has been offering MBSR programs to its members for over a year, in partnership with Certified MBSR facilitators Bonnie and Wendy. Our program builds mindful awareness in all aspects of one’s life.  Throughout the program participants are guided through mindful movement, meditation, and exercises that assist in understanding how to respond to daily stressors in a positive and adaptive way.  The weekly 2-hour classes are enhanced by home practices which participants integrate into their daily schedule.

Our participants have reported that they are more readily able to cope with daily stressors and chronic pain as they develop habits of awareness. They have also witnessed having better sleep and have been able to make choices to respond rather than react to life situations.

 

MBSR Program for Supports:

This program aims to support friends, family members, work & community colleagues of men receiving support and accessing resources offered by CCMF. The participants of MBSR program for support systems will be exposed to formal and informal mindfulness practices, educational content focused on stress reactivity and management, and the opportunity to learn and practice within a community of support; the intended outcome being, to build awareness, self regulation and build resiliency over time.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction is an 8-week psycho-educational program. This program is intended to bring awareness and develop healthy strategies that support personal relationships of those we care for that struggle with stress, pain, and suffering This program will be offered for 2 hours each week, with a commitment to weekly home practice as well as a silent retreat. 

The next cycle of MBSR for MEN is scheduled to begin mid-October 2022.
