One-on-one individual counselling with a mental health professional can offer foundational support when working through emotions related to relationship problems, separation and divorce, social isolation, family issues, and low self-esteem.

CCMF Alberta counsellors have been selected to join our team because of their interest in men’s mental health and sensitivity to the uniqueness of the male experience, particularly during intimate relationship breakdown. They provide personalized, one-on-one attention to clients dealing with individual or family issues, depression, or anxiety.

Reducing financial pressure.

Fees are assessed on a sliding scale according to your income. That means you pay what you can afford. We aim to ensure income level is not a barrier to participation.

Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, services can be covered in full or in part. Currently, CCMF Alberta can not direct bill client insurance plans. However, we do encourage you to contact your provider directly to verify how to access your insurance benefits and the process for reimbursement for mental health services. Many plans have a phone app that allows you to submit receipts for prompt (sometimes within 48 hours) turn around time.

These might help guide your conversation with your insurance provider:

  • Does my health insurance plan cover professional counselling from a Registered Provisional Psychologist?
  • Is there a maximum amount covered per session or a maximum each year?
  • Does my plan limit how many sessions I can have per year?
  • Do I need a written referral from a physician in order for services to be covered?
